Whether it be 'bless', or a variation such as 'bless up' or 'blessings', or âhighly blessedâ, some Jamaicans generally greet each other in a way that says that they wish the other person peace, abundance and rest in all they do.
Patois: Bless bredda, how yuh feel todeh?
English: Greetings brother, how are you feeling today?

The Rastafarian language is actually much easier to learn than Jamaican Patois because itâs mostly a play on English words (e.g. âoverstandâ for âunderstandâ,âdownpressâ for âoppressâ,â I-ditateâ for âmeditateâ etcâŠ) rather than being an entirely separate dialect as with Jamaican Patois.
